Hoa Binh 1926

Constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, between 1917 and 1918, Hoa Binh hotel features elegant French architecture.

It all started from a beer pub named Le Coq d’Or located at the corner of Carreauand Henri-Rivière avenues (currently known as LyThuongKiet and NgoQuyen streets).

May 19th, 1931

Later the building transformed into a two-storey hotel to serve French officials, and given the name Le Coq d’Or (or the golden rooster in Vietnamese). It was built with 56 rooms with 12 premium suites. Le Coq d’Or Hotel was sold on May 19th, 1931. After that it was upgraded and expanded with 1 more floor and 80 rooms called Splendid, and was inaugurated on January 1st, 1932. Spendid Hotel satisfied even the most fastidious French guests thanks to its elegance and convenience, and also for the location at the best spot in the city, near trade centers, banks, supermarkets, opera houses and theatres.

When peace was restored, the hotel changed its name to Hoa Binh Hotel till todayand came under the management of the Ministry of Domestic Trade. At that time,most of guests were international diplomatic delegates from socialist countries.

In October 1969

In October 1969, Hoa Binh Hotel was assigned to Hanoi Tourism Company (knownas the current Hanoitourist) till now. During the 80s of the last century, Hoa BinhHotel was one of a few hotels in Hanoi to receive international guests and overseas Vietnamese.

In 1986

In 1986, HòaBình Hotel was transformed into a 4-storey hotel. From 1993 to 1996, Hoa Binh Hotel was once again improved and turned into a hotel with 103 modern and convenient bedrooms at 3 star hotel standards.

In 2016

In 2016, STS - the professional hotel management company breathed new life into the hotel. It is remarkable that the French architectural designs were still preserved after all these waves of reform.
